Janek Christopher Kazmierski grew up in Oregon and graduated from the University of Oregon in 1998. Upon graduating from college, Mr. Kazmierski was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he served as an infantry officer. While serving in the Marine Corps, then Captain Kazmierski, was deployed and served in Afghanistan as the Executive Officer of a Weapons Company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

After his military service, Janek earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, he clerked for the Columbia, South Carolina, law firm of Rogers, Townsend & Thomas, gaining valuable experience in civil litigation and transactional law. Also during law school, he spent two years as a research assistant for Professor William J. Quirk, editing and co-authoring many articles that were published in well-respected journals and magazines. He was also a member of the prestigious American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Journal.

Janek's practice focuses on civil and criminal litigation. He represents injured persons in all areas of personal injury law, including car wrecks, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, and premises liability cases.

He also maintains an active criminal defense practice in both Magistrate and General Sessions Court. He has represented and successfully defended clients charged with a broad range of violent and non-violent crimes including: DUI, shoplifting, criminal domestic violence, drug charges, weapons charges, burglary, robbery and assault and battery.

Janek taught Legal Ethics and Business Law at a local university and continues to teach classes through the South Carolina Bar Association. He is a member of the South Carolina Association of Justice and  an active volunteer, presenting topics during Law School for Non-Lawyers at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College and participating in free legal clinics in the local community.
